ABOUT
James Penc
(jaymes - pense)
Designer. Photographer. Author. Clothing Designer. Voice Over Artist. Songwriter. Musician. Trivia Host.
"His intelligence and wealth of knowledge are camouflaged by his outward appearance, and seems to like it that way." Painful Gifts - Dewey Greene, first published 2003.
James has a wealth of knowledge...mostly useless factoids about music but he's well versed on many a topic.
If that isn’t enough, he has the inane ability to be in any conversation and instantaneously think of a song that match words you are speaking while his mind wanders to that song and yet, still being able to continue the conversation.
James always liked music, photography and reading. Even in high school.
He liked English class, reading the books and it spawned his love of lyrics in music.
He broke down bands lyrics and loved reading the lyrics when they were written in the album jackets of his favorite bands as a teen. While he would draw band logos on his brown paper bag book covers.
He would analyze and dissect the lyrics and try to figure if the words were just as they were or was there deeper meanings behind them.
He started to write poetry but really started his collection of lyrics for the songs he started writing.
From just one line, to partial verses, complete verses, complete songs and everything in between, he would write his ideas down on whatever piece of paper he could find when the thoughts would come to him.
James has a cornucopia of skills include holding three degrees, printed high profile clients for the NHL, broadcasted on top 50 radio and internationally broadcasted.
Other shiny things that attracts his short attention span are motorcycles, any hockey from high school to NHL, songwriting, playing bass, photography, graphic design and paddleboarding.
